MADISON, Wisconsin, August 16, 2013.
PhylloTech, LLC announces that it has received a $99,982 supplement to its Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Award from the National Science Foundation. The supplement, awarded through NSF’s Technology Enhancement for Commercial Partnership (TECP) program, will help the company meet the rigorous technical specifications required by potential strategic partners.
“The TECP supplement from NSF is a significant boost to our R&D efforts,” said Dr. Ryan Shepherd, PhylloTech’s Chief Executive Officer and the Principal Investigator on the NSF grant. “The funding will allow us to expand our target offerings and demonstrate further the uniqueness and utility of our trichome bioproduction system.”
PhylloTech has recently expanded its R&D laboratory in Madison, WI, and is currently constructing a 2,000 square foot pilot-scale bioproduction facility near Beloit, WI. The award supplement brings the total NSF SBIR Phase II funding to $615,892.
